Choosing a subclass in round 8
Round 8 brings a choose-one offer containing all five subclass-defining items for your class. It also grants 10 additional gold. This is a different decision from rerolling an ordinary shop: compare the complete offer with the backpack you already have.
Read the effect and the follow-up
A subclass item may improve an existing setup, unlock future shop items or enable repeated crafting. Open its item page and inspect both its effect and its outgoing links. A powerful payoff is less useful when its required partners do not fit your available space or budget.
Compare against your current backpack
Count the items that already meet the candidate's conditions. Check the squares its effect needs and whether moving your equipment breaks another interaction. Then consider the extra purchases needed to make the choice useful. Prefer a coherent plan over a collection of individually attractive items.
Plan the surrounding rounds
Skill choices occur in rounds 3 and 10, each with 5 additional gold. The later skill offer uses a different pool from the earlier one. The run economy planner includes those bonuses and the round-8 bonus; reserve money for your intended purchases rather than treating every bonus as reroll money.
A run does not promise ten more battles after the subclass choice. Wins, remaining tries and the survival decision determine how much time an investment has to pay off. Explore the class pages and compare a starting loadout in the build editor.
