Why an item is not appearing in your shop
A listed item is not necessarily ordinary shop stock. Some items are crafted, some arrive through special offers, and others require an enabler. A gold value alone does not tell you how to obtain an item.
Follow the required item
An item's acquisition section identifies its gate or ownership requirement where one exists. Read that relationship in both directions: from the result to its prerequisite, and from an enabler to the items it makes available. Deck of Cards opens a different set of possibilities from Chess Board.
Class, round and ownership matter
Class availability and the current round can restrict the candidate pool. Owning a prerequisite does not turn every dependent item into ordinary unrestricted stock. Unique offers, skill choices, subclass choices and ordinary rolls are separate paths. A gated item inherits the classes of the item that gates it.
Check crafting alternatives
An item may have several recipes or more than one acquisition route. Follow its recipe tree before spending gold on rerolls. The crafting planner shows alternative formulas and can check ingredient coverage from a shared backpack.
Make a purchase plan
Start from the result you need, identify its missing prerequisite, and budget for that prerequisite first. Use the shop odds for ordinary rarity rolls and the run budget for purchases and rerolls. Neither removes an item's ownership or class requirements.
A required item, a gate and a shop are different tests
The ordinary class shop offers an item when that item is shop stock for a class you currently have. Cupcake is ordinary Mage shop stock. It is not a gate. It is consumed, rather than kept, in three Mage recipes:
- Goobert and Cupcake become Cupcake Goobert: this formula
- Magic Staff and Cupcake become Cupcake Staff: this formula
- Ruby Whelp and Cupcake become Cupdrake: this formula
A skill that names a required item is offered only when a copy in the backpack, in Storage or in a socket is not about to be consumed. A result that is currently fusing into that required item also counts.
Amulet of Feasting is not ordinary shop stock. Unidentified Amulet gates it. While the amulet is in the backpack or in a socket, buying a Food item refills that shop slot with another Food item of a rarity from the current round. A copy that is only in Storage does not. Food in its stars gains 0.40 speed.
Buying Deck of Cards puts one of its cards into that same shop slot. The card's rarity comes from the current round. A generator that uses the gated filter can offer a Playing Card only while you have Deck of Cards, and a Chess Piece only while you have Chess Board. Having either item counts, including a copy in Storage. The ordinary class shop does not use that generator test. Shop rarity odds by round is the table for an ordinary rarity roll.
